A Plea for the Innocents

This is more of an interactive post. I felt like I really needed to write this.

OK, I want you to go to Pinterest and look up pictures of babies (here's the link to one of my boards with a lot of baby pictures on it, if you don't want to look them up). Look at all those sweet faces; all the adorable smiles. Look at all those precious, innocent children.
Now I want you to close your eyes and picture that Pinterest page, but replace all of the photos with blank spaces. Just white. Any comments about the sweetness of a child are made by people who can see who that child would have been if they hadn't been murdered.

They are not tissue. They are babies. They are human. There is no difference between a child in the womb and a child in your arms. None.

So many babies are killed- murdered, in cold blood -everyday. No flags lowered, no presidents crying, no media hyperventilating. Normal day. Why aren't there more people mourning this loss? Why aren't there more people weeping over this massacre of innocent lives?

We feel sorry for ourselves and all the drama in our lives, forgetting to be grateful that we have lives. We complain about our misfortunes, forgetting that so many others have been persecuted and even killed for various reasons that don't matter. Not really. They didn't deserve it.

Note: I believe that abortion is a sin and is wicked in the eyes of God, but I also believe you can be forgiven through Jesus Christ. I believe that it is wrong and is evil in God's sight, but I also believe that grace is freely given Jesus's name.

Infinity Scarf pattern

This is my first pattern to ever be published! Yay! (I think...)
It's pretty simple, so if you know how to chain, single and double crochet, you should be good to go! :)

Items Needed:
Any WW yarn
Size J hook

Ch - Chain
DC - Double crochet
HDC - Half double crochet

  1. Ch 14 for foundation chain
  2. DC in 3rd chain from hook to the end of row, Ch 2, turn
  3. DC through each stitch (inside the stitch, not just the top 2 strands) to the end of the row, Ch 2, turn
  4. Repeat Row #3 until it is as long as you like.
  5. Connect the two end rows with HDC through the parallel stitch on each side. Fasten off, weave in ends.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me in the comments below! :)

If We're Honest (Francesca Battistelli)

I love this song; it helps to inspire me and it touches a part of my heart that is hidden from view, even from those closest to me.

Bring your brokenness and I'll bring mine,
'Cause love can heal what hurt divides,
And mercy's waiting on the other side,
If we're honest

Currently... (11-20-14)

Currently...
Typing as the dialogue from Thor drifts up the stairs.

Regretting...
That I don't post on here very much.

Thinking...
About why it's so much easier to post on my personal blog. Because I put in part of myself. (I really ought to do that with this blog as well)

Dreaming...
Of days when I am not so focused on useless nothings

Wishing...
I wasn't so forgetful, so irregular

Contemplating...
On whether to send a friend an epistle that is heartfelt but foolish

Feeling...
Petty and childish, but wanting a friend to talk to

Thinking...
That maybe this is a silly thing to post and I should just delete it. Right now.

Deciding...
That maybe I should send that email to my friend. Maybe it will make me feel better. Maybe not.

Worrying...
That maybe tonight will be like the last several nights, when I lay awake in bed and think about what friends can I trust in? Who is for real?

Latest Creation (10/21/14)

Hello, lovlies! I realize I'm not really updating this blog as I should, and I need to step it up. I tend to post more on my personal blog, Reflections of the Heart; it just comes easier to me.
But I have decided that I will either pick up the pace with this blog or close it down. Fortunately for you who enjoy seeing these posts, I have grown rather attached to this little blog and I would absolutely hate to delete it. :)

So here is my latest creation...

 A cupcake hat!

This is the first time (to my remembrance) I have attempted to make a cupcake hat, and I'm so glad I tried! My cousin and friend Lydia bought it for her friend's baby. :)
You can see the sprinkles, right?
My grandma used a Cheerio Kid as a model, lol!  XD

Current Projects (10/4/14)

So I posted this post on the Reflections of my Heart blog instead of this one (all accidental, of course). So here it is again!

So recently I've been crocheting a lot more than usual (no, I don't normally make one hat a day). I thought I would post about different products I've made lately, with pictures, of course! :)

Here are some owl sleepy masks I made; both of them sold at the craft sale I went to last Saturday. :)
Which do you like better? The one with its eyes open or the one winking? Or do you think they would be cuter with both eyes shut?

I also made a Nemo hat on request; it was a bit more difficult than I expected. :P

I have got to buy a styrafoam head one of these days. My arm doesn't work very well. :P

As I mentioned earlier, I went to a craft sale with my mom last Saturday. It was pretty exciting, it being my first craft sale to have my own booth. We managed to sell quite a few hats from the 8WC, all the profits from which went to the Master's Home.
It's really crazy how we raised over $130 for the orphanage, don't you think? ;)

Yes, I'm still freaking out about it. XD
